Curriculum

Fryganiotis School has created model programmes of study based on modern educational theory and methods aimed at cultivating the individual aptitudes and interests of our students while fostering the well-rounded development of their character.

The educational innovations we implement make lessons creative and effective as they help the children grow and learn, and form their character and ethos.

The curriculum is enriched with additional teaching hours in modern Greek, mathematics, English, IT, environmental education and literature.

The students take tests every week and are assessed depending on their performance. The aim of the school is to familiarise the students with written examinations and create the optimal conditions for our students' successful course at school. The interactive whiteboards The interactive whiteboards increase the students' enthusiasm, interest and participation so that they are more attentive and perform better thanks to the power of interaction. It also helps them to better absorb complex concepts. Different learning models (auditory, visual, kinaesthetic) are used to offer students the opportunity to participate and work together for better learning.

Special emphasis is placed on cooperation with the parents cooperation with the parents of our students as part of the educational mission. Parents are kept informed about the performance and conduct of students at regularly scheduled days and times at the school.

The purpose of the school is to contribute to the all-round, harmonious and balanced development of the cognitive and psychosomatic strengths of the students so they grow into well-rounded individuals and lead creative lives.

The interdisciplinary approach works effectively to develop a holistic perception of knowledge, helping students to form their own notions of society and the global landscape in which they live. It enhances the instructional function of education and the development of the students' values and skills, which are cultivated within the framework of each subject area.

Integrated interdisciplinary-experiential teaching is characterised by the flexible planning of instruction and teaching in work groups, thus cultivating team spirit, relations between concepts or subject areas and the blending of multiple disciplines, with an emphasis on project-based learning, the use of topic-based units and reading from multiple sources. Our key goals are to organise teaching and the active participation of students in a variety of activities and experiences to build knowledge, where "students learn how to learn", and are provided with an incentive for learning. The aim is to ensure understanding and limit the fragmentation, unilateralism and inflexibility of knowledge by changing the learning model from being teacher-centred to being student-centred. Moreover, students are trained to cultivate important skills, to develop critical thinking and to maintain a positive attitude in the face of difficult circumstances, enabling them to develop coping strategies. They learn to make the most of their own strengths, to cooperate, to extract and manage information from diverse sources and to use a number of different types of thinking and communicating in their later social life, as they learn to approach the world through a project framework.

Students enjoy planning and implementing their projects in a variety of areas, such as health education, environmental education, history, civic studies and others.
The use of a project-oriented approach is very constructive. Projects involve group work and aim to activate the learning process and expand the students' horizons beyond the subject matter of school textbooks. Participation in a project offers additional incentives for students to learn and practice their communication skills while at the same time enabling them to address real issues, resolve questions, write more, make revisions, observe, think, work, prepare and ultimately publish their joint project. The educational value of this entire process is immense,as the children work together and share and exchange information, becoming sources of knowledgefor the other students and combining the joy of active participation with creativity to successfully acquire knowledge.

In this modern teaching environment, we shape tomorrow's citizens of the world by providing quality education, and enriching the academic curriculum with sports activities., Students are thus able to develop their own unique abilities as we nurture well-rounded personalities with well-developed individual and social skills.
